| Hope you all had a really nice Christmas and... Happy New Years to you too! I've been feeling sorta "rough" lately, so made a visit to our local medical "liscensed care practitioner" and she's getting me all fixed up by being on some meds! Feel so-oo much better! Medicines are great, if used right! Some others in the past have really messed me up too! Just to let you all know a little more about us...My dear husband is a local mail carrier & does odd jobs (construction, ect.) on the side.He also loves deer-hunting & has gotten 6 at least, this year so far.(Today's the last day of deer season!) I am a Home-School Mom and love being a wife and mother...with all it's many responsibilities! I also work part-time at a local Post Office as a PMR. Tim & I have been in the Postal system now for over 8 years and both enjoy working with the public. Our oldest son, Greggory is 18 and works for a local owned pallet place...it's a really good job for him-he really enjoys it! He's out of school for the most part, owns his own car and enjoys being with our church youth group. Brenton is 15 and is in school at home and does real well. He's a great helper and does pretty much all the laundry for us! He is also following in his Dad's footsteps with "deer-hunting"!(He's gotten 5 this year!) He and Gregg also do our chores for us--we have what some people have called "a little McDonald farm"! Whatever it is, it's gotten to be quite alot of different animals--it has been great for teaching Responsiblity!! Don't know how long we'll be able to keep it up though-it's pretty expensive to feed 'em all!! Then there's our only daughter, Julie--who is 7 and enjoying her 2nd year in school at home. She took her !st year at a local Christian school in the area, and has adjusted real well this year being Home-Schooled, for which I'm very thankful! She really enjoys drawing & does really well! She also loves our little Shi-tzu puppy that we got a little over a year ago, who is now due to have her first puppies in about a month! The greatest blessing with our children is that they all love the Lord with all their hearts!! God is an AWESOME God and this is just ONE example...If all the stars in the universe were only the size of the head of a pin, they still would fill Miami's Orange Bowl to overflowing more than 3 billion times!!!!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful year with JESUS! | | |
| Something To Think About........................................ "A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones."-Proverbs 17:22 ***A TRUE "merry heart" comes from a deep, abiding joy that is based on God's salvation!*** .....Do we have the joy that comes from the Lord, Who lives in us and not from what's happening around us? ---May we experience the WONDERFUL JOY of knowing JESUS, Who alone can make us truely HAPPY!!! | | |
| Today, when working here at the Radiant P.O., I got to talking to this one lady about the things of the Lord..... When she told me that she only believes "parts" of the Bible, it made me wonder why?? She said she believes only good things can come from God and so she said she doesn't believe that all the men that wrote the Bible were of God! It just made me so thankful that I have been taught well by Godly Christian parents, for I KNOW Every Word Of the Holy Bible is True and inspired by God! She went on to tell me some things about her family... that she just recently lost her Mom and that her 2 sisters took their Mom far away after she had Alzheimers and got her "Will" redone so they ended up with everything and her with nothing! Her sisters have been very cruel to her!! And her oldest sister, who died only 3 months after their mother died, used to abuse her- when growing up! She really seemed glad to be able to talk to someone who listened and said she felt like she never really had any sisters!! It made me so thankful that I have 2 special Chrstian sisters that I know I can talk to anytime and that we all love each other not only as sisters by birth, but sisters in JESUS too! And that really does make all the difference!!! And to top it off, I also have a sister-in-law who is a very special Christian "sister" too! I feel so very blessed and my heart goes out to this lady,so if ya"ll think about it, remember this poor soul in your prayers that she may see the WHOLE Truth of God's love! Also, pray for me that I can say the right things God would have me say to her and other folks I meet here. Thanks and wishing you all a beautiful day in Jesus!! --R. | | |
| Here's something that may help you all out there as it has me.... Once this father took his son for swimming lessons. The father was expecting to be a proud pop, but much to his dismay-- the son took one look at the water, one look at the instructor, and started crying. To make matters even worse, the instructor wanted "DAD" to take his son back to the locker room! In between the son's crying and begging to go home -- the dad decided to give his boy a pep talk : "YOU CAN DO IT, SON! I'll come to all your lessons, and we'll have a signal. When you get scared, look up at me, and when I hold my thumb up, you'll know it's going to be okay because I'm here cheering you on." ♥ The son finally agreed, and today, he swims circles around "dad"!!!! We, too face situations sometimes that seem overwhelming and impossible. In those times, we need to find our confidence in JESUS! Our first instinct probably is to back away in fear. But that's when we need to look to Jesus, "the Author and Finisher of our faith", Who will raise His nail-scarred hand and say, " Stay with it. Run the race. I've run it before you, and in My power , you can WIN. YOU CAN DO IT!!!" ♥............................ I turn THE BIG "40" in a few days and I just pray that I can be all God wants me to be now and in the "next 40!!!" Let's keep on keeping on!!!
